Imagine sitting down to write a story, each word carefully chosen—each sentence designed and edited many times over. In the end, a poem, to share with you a message, paint for you a picture, with letters, take you somewhere other than where you are. Please meet, if you haven’t already, your neighbors, Long Islanders past and present. They are not listed in alphabetical order, rather, ‘first-come, first-serve’, a list of brilliant writers, small fraction of what is to be found here, on our island.
